Phase two had been entered.
The ladies were ready to move away from the shrunken techs who had volunteered for the last experiment to prisoners who had volunteered for reduced sentences with this one. The prisoners were promised life sized houses relative to themselves. This was a pretty good bargain compared to their usual six by eight cells so surprisingly many braved the reduction process.
This place was a lot more independent than the last one was. The research team brought in water and waste treatment facilities for this habitat. There was water pressure for the hot showers that were heated with electrical batteries that only required a few hours of solar light every day. There was even a small park in the center of the complex. The top scientist would write down the prisoners requests, complaints, and suggestions as a matter of future concerns for new habitats that they had planned on the horizon.
A wall was built around the habitat which could be manned by men with tiny rifles or varying weapons to see their defensive capabilities. From time to time an animal was placed into the facility in order to see how the prisoners would repel such creatures at their sizes. Even people unaware of the project were allowed to walk into this area in order to see how they would react to seeing tiny people for the first time. The prisoners had to figure out how to be diplomatic towards the Giant strangers that they would find themselves confronted with. The researchers would only keep people from leaving the facility with the prisoners for security reasons. But all other interactions were allowed, which kept the prisoners on their toes... Literally.
